About your Trainer

My journey into life with dogs began as a child. Having a life-long love of all animals and having lived with many dogs, cats, and rabbits, it wasn’t until an adopted foster ‘failure’ named Tiger Lily came along, that my life changed dramatically. 

Tiger Lily, a 54 pound Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix came to me as a foster dog; an adolescent with fear reactivity, and a back-story that rivals any sad country ballad. 

Her behavior challenged me like no other pet I had ever had. I wasn’t sure how I would do it, was not sure it was even possible to do it but became committed to try. I wanted to help her overcome her fears, gain confidence, and live a more balanced life.

I fell in love with the process of rehabilitating Tiger Lily, and became certified in dog obedience instruction from the Animal Behavior College.

My biggest joy now is helping the pet parent and their dog find their balance together. Through communication (teaching the dog how to live in the human world) and relationship (trust me, and I will guide you through it), the bond developed is like no other. 

I use positive reinforcement techniques and teach both dog and pet parents on how to make good choices. As a Dog Trainer living with Multiple Sclerosis, working with dogs, has taken on a slightly different approach that is helping me to overcome certain physical challenges. 

In my spare time, I volunteer at the Anti-Cruelty Society with their adoption process. I continue to stay current with my education by attending seminars, lectures, and classes to provide the latest scientific breakthroughs, techniques to my clients and their dogs.
